Anesthesia For Dental Anxiety

Making Dental Visits Easier and More Comfortable

If you avoid the dentist due to fear or anxiety, you’re not alone. Many patients delay treatment because of how they expect the experience to feel. Unfortunately, this can lead to more serious dental problems over time.

Anesthesia and sedation offer a way to receive the care you need in a calm, comfortable environment.

A More Comfortable Experience

For patients with significant dental anxiety, general anesthesia allows you to be fully asleep during your procedure. You won’t feel discomfort or remember the experience—when you wake up, your treatment is complete.

If full anesthesia isn’t necessary, other sedation options are available. Moderate (conscious) sedation helps you feel deeply relaxed, and you may remember little of the procedure afterward.

Mild sedation is also available for patients who simply want to feel more at ease while remaining awake and aware.

Support for a Wide Range of Patients

Sedation and anesthesia are not only for anxiety. They are also helpful for patients with cognitive or developmental conditions who may have difficulty tolerating dental procedures.

Creating a controlled, supportive environment helps ensure treatment can be completed safely and with less stress for both the patient and provider.
