Fasting Guidelines

Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the day of your procedure, unless instructed otherwise. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact Dr. Smith.

Fasting is important for your safety. During anesthesia, normal protective reflexes are reduced, which increases the risk of stomach contents entering the lungs. Following these instructions helps minimize that risk and ensures a safe procedure.
